Achilles
tendonitis/ Achilles pain is a major problem amongst
runners of all ages. As the name suggests Achilles tendonitis
affects the achilles tendon. The achilles tendon connects
the heel of the foot to the calve muscles. The tendon
joins three main muscles in the calve, the two heads
of the gastrocnemius and the soleus. Pain may be present
at the achilles tendon during exercise and can increase
once activity has ceased.
Tenderness
may be felt along the course of the tendon. There may
be the presence of a localized nodule on the tendon.
The soles of the patient’s shoes may show an abnormal
shoe wear pattern. The primary cause of achilles tendonitis
is over pronation. People
suffering with achilles pain have been forced to live
with the pain no longer have to put up with this condition
while standing, walking or running. View the Dr Foot

Orthotic
Proof Sources and Safety Data.
The use of foot orthotics has been researched and tested
by leading institutions around the world, and is widely
accepted in the medical community. Foot orthotics/ foot
insoles are used in both public and private hospitals
and clinics.
Clinical studies and field research verify the value
of orthotics in preventing and treating achilles pain
while improving the structural integrity of the ligaments
and muscles around the ankle. Flexible orthotics control
foot motion without restricting function and creating
compensatory movement in other structures.

Foot Sports Insoles

Achilles Tendonitis is the inflammation
of the tendon between the calf muscle and the heel.
Also known as Calcaneal tendon, Tendo Calcaneus and
Tendon of Achilles, the Achilles Tendon is usually stressed
by walking long distances, carrying heavy loads or during
high-intensity sports activities.
This condition is usually associated
with pronation of the foot (flat foot), not stretching
before exercise and over training. In order to minimize
injury, it is important to use Insoles (orthotics) as
well as stretching and warm-up exercises before and
after training.

Dr Foot's Sports Insoles work
wonders on problem-prone feet. These Insoles are biomechanically
engineered to help relieve achilles pain. The contoured
shape supports your feet in two directions, both lengthwise
and across the arch, for maximum relief of pain and
fatigue. The special poron heel cushion and the comfortable
arch support helps to reduce shock absorption and fatigue.
Dr Foot Sport Insoles are engineered to combat over
pronation and provide greater stability and maximum
support. Ideal for patients seeking arch support for
prevention and treatment of achilles tendonitis.
